IPA's Third Regional Gathering

On September 26th, IPA, in partnership with RxSafeNet and CPESN Indiana, hosted its third and final regional gathering for this year in South Bend. Participants enjoyed the company of one another and learned more about how to engage in IPA, RxSafeNet, and CPESN's activities.

IPA Fall Conference 2024

Today, IPA hosted our Fall Conference in Lafayette, Indiana. With over 100 members in attendance, this served as a great opportunity for everyone to learn and grow together.

As displayed in the logo below, the willow tree and resilience served as a pillar of the conference. The willow tree is a symbol of resilience and strength, representing the ability to withstand and overcome adversity. Its graceful, drooping branches and resilient trunk are often seen as a reminder of the power of nature and its ability to overcome difficulties. Diamonds are formed under pressure.  But never forget, they are not formed overnight. Pharmacy has been a profession that has displayed great resilience. The conference served as a time to honor this and reflect on how we can continue to excel and display this quality.

Before the conference officially kicked off, pre-conference activities took place. First, a Contraception Prescribing Training for Pharmacists was hosted on Thursday. Then, Thursday evening, a screening of “Shot in the Arm”, courtesy of the Indiana Immunization Coalition was hosted which explored ideas of vaccine hesitancy both historically and in light of the pandemic.

Then, on Friday morning the conference started and included several educational opportunities from amazing speakers! Topics included resilience and well-being, migraine treatments, ISHP updates, artificial intelligence in healthcare, legislative advocacy, compounding compliance, and state and federal law updates.

In addition, attendees had the chance to help with naloxone kit packaging to help give back to the community. Together, we were able to package over 4,000 kits throughout the course of the day. A huge thank you to our speakers and everyone who attended. We hope to see you at another IPA event in the future!

IPA Visits Westfield High School

Yesterday, IPA visited Westfield High School for the Junior Achievement Career Fair. Throughout the day, students played games where they were able to step into the world of pharmacy through prescription checking and matching medications to their indications. We all had a great time speaking to students and educating them about the pharmacy profession!
