Legislative Priorities
IPA’s Legislative & Regulatory Council considers feedback from members, guidance from IPA’s lobbyists, and opportunities to advance practice to propose priorities to the IPA Board. These priorities reflect critical practice or public health issues, feedback from members, practice advancement opportunities, and opportunities to collaborate with other health care organizations.
Members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these priorities and incorporate them into conversations as they engage with their legislators.
This fall, the IPA Board of Directors will finalize IPA's legislative priorities for the 2023 session. This will be available for viewing once finalized.
The General Assembly is currently in a special session. Our priority in this session, which is focused on abortion, is obtaining prescriptive authority for pharmacists to prescribe self-administered hormonal contraceptives. View more information here. (Member login required)
