Volunteer Opportunities for Indiana Pharmacists
Gennesaret Free Clinic
Location: 3001 E 30th St, Indianapolis, IN 4621
Description: Offers free healthcare in Indianapolis with our medical clinics, dental clinic, women’s health services, and Health Recovery Homes. Pharmacists needed to properly dispense medications and counsel patients about their medications, how they work, and how to use them properly. Must have a PharmD to serve in a pharmacist role. Students can work alongside pharmacists with proper training. Please note it is preferred that you can volunteer at least monthly. Several clinic times available.

Butler University Community Outreach Pharmacy (BUCOP)
Location: Indianapolis
Description: Student-run pharmacy organization that provides pharmacy services free of charge to our neighbors in the East side of Indianapolis in partnership with Indiana University Student Outreach Clinic (IUSOC) since 2009. Our pharmacy services include but are not limited to provision of free medications to treat a variety of acute and chronic illnesses, patient assistance programs and medication counseling. We provide unique educational opportunities to Butler’s student pharmacists. As an organization, we strive to give back to our community and help build the next generation of health care leaders and patient advocates for years to come. As a clinic, we are strong advocates for universal access to adequate, safe, and affordable healthcare for those in need throughout Indianapolis. Be able to volunteer at a minimum every 3 months, ideally once monthly

The Center for Health Excellence, Quality and Innovation (CHEQI)

Description: The Center for Health Excellence, Quality and Innovation (CHEQI) in the College of Pharmacy at Purdue University was established in 2020. CHEQI is committed to addressing public health using collaborative community- and person-centered approaches.

CHEqI Charitable Pharmacy with Gleaners
Location: 3737 Waldemer Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46241
Description: The Patterson-McCallum-Mareta pharmacy onsite at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana will provide prescription and non-prescription medications and select medical devices. The pharmacy will be staffed by pharmacists, technicians, and community health workers to meet daily operational needs. Volunteers and students will help sort and maintain medication inventories

Indiana Area Health Education Centers Network (IN AHEC)
Location: University of Indianapolis (1400 Campus Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46227)
Description: As an organization, IN AHEC addresses health workforce needs of medically underserved communities and populations by establishing partnerships between the institutions that train health professionals and the communities that need them most.
Locally, MICI-AHEC (Metropolitan Indianapolis - Central Indiana AHEC) hosts a Health Careers Enrichment Program annually in the summer that is open to volunteers. The Young Achievers Academy is seeking speakers from different health professions to meet with middle to high school students and share their career path.

Good News Ministries Free Clinic
Location: 2716 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46201
Description: Serves low income, homeless, uninsured, underinsured and underserved people from our community and our shelters. We are constantly recruiting new volunteers. They choose a regular schedule to come for 3 to 4 hours once a week, once every other week or once a month. To become a volunteer the candidate needs to meet with me and complete an application form. The information provided would allow us to start the credentialing and privileging process for that individual. Clinic is Monday and Tuesday 10 am to 5 pm, Wednesday 10 am to 4pm and Thursday 1 pm to 7 pm

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Drivers
Location: Various
Description: Our nation’s heroes travel around the globe to protect our freedoms—it’s only right that we return their dedication. Volunteering to drive a vehicle ensures that even those living remotely from VA hospitals can make their appointments and never go without the treatment they need.
